Aftercare

Downtime is 24 hours. Avoid touching or rubbing the area immediately after treatment. Refrain from taking hot showers or washing your face for 24 hours. Avoid intense exercise for 48-72 hours. Additionally, avoid electrolysis, depilatory creams, waxing, and laser hair removal for a minimum of 2 weeks after treatment. Steer clear of intense sunlight, saunas, sunbeds, and steam baths for at least 2 weeks after treatment. If you have any concerns, please report them to your practitioner.

Treatment Risks

SkinPen a very low risk treatment.
Avoid applying any creams, serums, SPF etc on the face for 24 hours. You will be provided with an aftercare kit post treatment and that is all you will need to apply to the skin for 24 hours. After 24 hours you can apply creams and makeup as normal.
Avoid AHA, BHA, Retinol and Vit C until all redness has subsided.
Contraindications include: If have active skin cancer in the area being treated. Open wounds and sores in the area being treated. Allergy to stainless steal. Bleeding disorder/dysfunction Pregnant. Must be off roaccutane for at least 6 months before treatment.

Does it hurt?

This treatment does not hurt. A topical numbing is applied to the skin prior to treatment for maximum comfort. Immediately after SkinPen, the skin can feel hot. A soothing aftercare kit is provided to the patient by their practitioner. It is advised that the products in the aftercare kit are the only products applied to the skin for 24 hours. We also offer a hydrating and cooling face mask that can be purchased post-treatment.
Will it work for me?

Unlike other microneedling alternatives, SkinPen has been clinically proven to be effective for women and men with all Fitzpatrick Skin Types I-VI. Unlike lasers, for example, that can damage the skin over the long term, SkinPen can be used over years with no issues.
