Reduce Under-Eye Hollows

At CS Medical Aesthetics, led by Nurse Codie Shankelton, we specialise in advanced treatments to enhance your natural beauty. Our Tear Trough Filler Treatment targets the sunken, dark circles and wrinkles around the eyes that create a tired appearance. As we age, thinning skin and tissue loss make the tear trough more prominent, casting shadows and deepening dark circles. Using high-quality dermal fillers, we replace the lost volume under the eyes, correcting the tired expression and creating a brighter, refreshed look. This minimally invasive procedure offers a cost-effective, quick, and non-invasive alternative to surgery, with little to no downtime, helping you achieve rejuvenated and youthful under eyes.

“Codie had an amazing calming presence and settled any nerves I had. It was clear she was really knowledgeable and well informed about her work too.”

Aftercare

If you experience mild pain, avoid anti-inflammatory medication and instead use analgesic medication such as Paracetamol. To minimise the chance of infection, avoid touching or rubbing the treated area immediately after the procedure. Refrain from taking hot showers and consuming alcohol for 24 hours. Additionally, avoid intense exercise for 48 hours. Gentle cleansing around the area is recommended. Lastly, avoid hot tubs, saunas, and sun beds for 2 weeks.

Treatment Risks

  • Mild pain and tenderness may be experienced after treatment. This is common and can last up to 72 hours.
  • Blockage of vessel or artery. Although highly uncommon for an experienced aesthetics practitioner, we advise you to seek dermal filler treatment from a medical professional who is highly skilled and knowledgeable about facial anatomy and able to manage any complication if this was to arise.

Questions about your treatment

  • Why is it not permanent?
Hyaluronic Acid based dermal fillers are not permanent because our bodies naturally and gradually break it down over time. This is due to our faces changing shape and structure over time.
  • How long will fillers last?
Normally dermal fillers last 9-18 months depending on the area being treated. Factors that contribute to dermal filler being broken down include the quality of the dermal filler brand that is being used (FDA approved products), how much dermal filler was used, the density of the dermal filler which is dependent on the area being treated, and individual factors such as sun exposure, facial expression, genetics, medical history, smoking status, weight, diet, and exercise.
  • How often do you need treatment?
Results can last anywhere between 12-18 months.
  • Why would I want dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers rejuvenate and restore volume loss that naturally occurs as we age. It reduces lines and wrinkles and creates a fuller, more youthful appearance by enhancing your features.
  • Does it hurt?
Mild pain and discomfort may be experienced during the procedure. However, our Aesthetics Nurse will assess this and, if required, apply a topical numbing agent to reduce any pain and discomfort. The dermal fillers that we use are of the highest quality and also contain lidocaine, a numbing agent which is also very effective in reducing pain or discomfort that may be experienced during treatment.
  • How long do dermal filler treatments take?
Treatment itself can take 30-45 minutes depending on the number of areas being treated, but normally 30 minutes. We book all our patients in for longer appointments to allow for an in-depth consultation and time for questions to be asked and answered. This ensures all our patients are fully informed about all our treatments.
  • What if I find it cheaper?
We understand people can be drawn to lower, 'cheaper' prices and we encourage you to do what is best for your individual needs. Take the time to research and understand why these prices are cheaper to help make an informed decision. We urge you to seek a practitioner who is an experienced medical professional to ensure you are in safe hands if a complication were to occur. Check what products are being used, if they are fully insured to be carrying out these treatments, and what qualifications they have. These treatments are for the face/body, which is why aiming for high quality and safety is vital.
